“As a new photographer I had big dreams for my business but posing newborns was scary and nerve racking. Jaci is a great teacher and very detailed. Upon entering we were given a book with all the info she would be teaching, this was crucial as I have a terrible memory, and look back at this frequently. We covered posing, safety, editing, and even where to get the best and cost effective props. After the workshop, Jaci continued to critique and encourage us. She’s very patient and treats each student individually. Definitely a “must” workshop if you are wanting to pursue newborn photography.” – Catrina W.
As a part time photographer I debated if investing in another workshop was in my best interest. I had taken several other workshops that for the most part I felt were not the best investment. I am so happy to say that the Jaci Iles Workshop I took was worth every penny! I know everyone’s background is a little different when it comes to experience and I can truly say that Jaci went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met. Going into this workshop I only had photographed newborns for a total of one month. All of my sessions were captured using solely natural light. I went into this hoping to learn as much as possible to enhance my natural light newborn images. What I did not know is that I would be put out of my comfort zone and learn about studio light as well. As a new photographer who had never used studio lights I was in a clueless state of mind. I can attest that Jaci went out of her way to make sure I felt more at ease and learn. It is because of her that less than two weeks after attending her workshop I purchased studio lights! This is not something I would have ever learned on my own. I was especially pleased that she also still incorporated the natural light fundamentals during the workshop as well. I can say this was the best workshop I have ever taken. I feel this was a great investment. The amount of knowledge I took away from there is endless. She even goes out of her way to talk about the best printing labs, best prop shops, and even best editing techniques. I would recommend this workshop to any newborn photographer! I am forever thankful to Mrs. Iles. She is my teacher, role model, and mentor!” – Vanessa E.
Where do I even begin? I attended the Jaci Iles Workshop in July. I went in to it with a totally open mind. I didn’t know what I would take from it and didn’t really know what to expect. I can’t begin to describe how happy I am that I went. I traveled from New Mexico to Louisiana to attend and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my business. I learned so much in the 2 days I was there. From posing, to picking coordinating colors for “sets”, everything was very hands on. Jaci has a way with people and babies that is extraordinary. I loved every minute of the experience and would do it all over! She has not only boosted my confidence with handling babies, but she also boosted my confidence as a photographer. I now feel proud to call myself a photographer when people ask what my profession is. If you are looking for a step by step on learning newborn posing the Jaci lies workshop is for you! Not only did I make friends there that I will keep in contact with, I got to meet one of the most supportive and sweet photographer I think I will ever meet!”
